Snapshots of the in-development planetary data renderer

These shots show the real-time terrain tesselator displaying the 86400×43200 Blue Marble Next Generation color map atop the 86400×43200 SRTM 16-bit height map. The height map provides both displacement and normal map, allowing per-pixel illumination. All three source maps are mipmapped and sliced at 512×512, giving 29GB of data across 57903 separate page files. The atmosphere is O'Neil's algorithm.
